Headwarp Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 To make mission editing easier it would be nice if we could set waypoint speed based on an aircraft's IAS rather than TAS. For example - making a refueling mission I have to guesstimate the TAS of the tanker at various altitudes to make it fly at whichever IAS is recommended for a given aircraft's refueling speed. I think this process would be much easier if I could just tell the tanker to fly at xxx knots IAS. I have no qualms with this being optional, similar to the fact that altitude can be set either above sea level, or above ground level. I can see this being useful for more than just Tanker missions...but on the topic of tankers.. better yet would be if the tanker had a preset speed to fly for each aircraft able to utilize it in DCS. I'm uncertain if this is already somewhat being done as I haven't tried to refuel on an MP server in quite some time.. but it'd be cool if the tanker just knew "Oh, an F-15 is requesting fuel, I better get to 310knots IAS" or "A-10C! 180Knots IAS" With carrier ops being a thing, tankers might become more vital.
