Hey folks,

Been playing around with DCS for a couple of months now and am interested in joining a squadron, I am in EST (-5 GMT) in case anyone is wondering.

As far as experience I would say I am relatively green, I've flown plenty of sims in the past, none as complex as this.

Thanks.

You can join my squadron, we are recruiting at the moment. 52knight.org <--

We have Discord, teamspeak, sometimes our own mp servers...

Trainings are 2 or more times a week (our members are every day online so you can join them). We got 2 members who are playing DCS since it came out for the 1st time and that is a rare thing. They even played other sims (BMS Falcon for ex) before DCS so you are guaranteed to get the skills and knowledge from them ;)

But, on the other side, we are very strict about the activity (or better to say it, inactivity) so you have to be online at least once per week.

Adixylian, thanks for the quick response.

I am about to sign up, but I have a couple of questions:

1. What aircraft do you guys fly normally? I purchased the F/A-18 module and will try to focus learning that primarily (when it comes out), but I also have FC3 and fly the F-15. I was going to purchase the Hawk or F-5.

2. What days normally do you guys fly? Some of the other squadrons I've seen do 4 days minimum, this may be a problem for me committing that much time as real life gets in the way.

Thanks,

906th is recruiting we fly most DCS aircraft except the F-15 and we also do a little role playing as a former Soviet state similar to something like Ace Combat. We offer training in airframes also. most of us are ESTaswell. We do participate in monthly ops with other squadrons and we also PVP on servers.

Check out our website and feel free to join discord if you have any questions.

Are you guys doing ground school while you wait for the F-14 and F/A-18 to come out?

Yes we will be doing Ground Courses for both the F/A-18 and F-14 while we are waiting. But importantly as we are waiting, we are covering important material, such as the pattern work and radio comms with training aircraft such as the F-5 (While we are waiting for both F/A-18 and F-14)

Cool, sounds like I should buy the F-5 then. :)

Well I mean no need to buy the F-5 if you don't have it :P the F/A-18 is right around the corner

What is 'pattern work'? Can you give a sample?

Pattern work, as in practicing the Pattern for the Airfield. We do patterns how the U.S Navy does them, and a lot of our new guys aren't familiarized on the Navy styled pattern. So that's what I mean by "Pattern Work"
