TonyStovepipe Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 I got this at a boot sale for £2 and I wonder if the usb converters work ok with it like this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cable-Core-Male-Joystick-Game-Adapter/dp/B0038Q5FYO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1526879483&sr=8-2&keywords=gameport+to+usb&dpID=31qLc9WDHtL&preST=_QL70_&dpSrc=srch Mostly want to pedals to work so I can use them toe brakes. I was thinking of opening it up and wire a usa controller to the switches. Thanks for any advice :)
Sokol1_br Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 (edited) A gameport2USB adapter may work - the best is Rockefort, but seems limited to 6 buttons. - This rudder pedal is like car pedals (brake, accelerator), independent and don't have "toe brakes". But since is 2 individual axes combined in one, if re-wire in a Arduino you can use then as brake only - without rudder control. Opera resume: This combo has value for people with soldering skill/tools for modernize to USB - e.g. with cheap (~$6) Arduino PRO Micro+MMjoy2 firmware, and for use in FSX, X-Plane GA. The two pedals can be combined in one axes for rudder only use - of course without brakes. How to - for plug in Arduino+MMJoy2: https://sites.google.com/site/mmjoyproject/avto-pedali Edited May 21, 2018 by Sokol1_br
TonyStovepipe Posted May 21, 2018 Author Posted May 21, 2018 Wow thank you for that information very helpful . I will test the Rockefort and if that don'twork I will diy with Arduino. Thanks again.
Sokol1_br Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 (edited) In fact is Rockfire: :) https://www.amazon.com/game-Adapter-Rockfire-RM-203-gameport/dp/B004HAX7OU This review show their limitation with stick other than Tm FCS (2 axe, 4 buttons, POV HAT) and CH FLightstick (3 axes, 4 buttons, POV HAT). TonyStovepipe Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 Thank you I hope it works. Mite use it for rudders now until I can afford some proper ones.
