firmek Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Unfortunately my setup dosen't hold the new SSAA, it makes the textures look amazing but with this feature ON, I only have 30 FPS. Let's hope for some optimzations. Don't count for a lot of performance improvement. The words SSAA and new should generally not be used next to each other as while SSAA is a new option in DCS its also really old antyaliasing method. Supersamling AA is extreamly resource heavy - thus such a hudge negative FPS impact. There is no real way to optimize it other than just using a different AA method. F/A-18, F-16, F-14, M-2000C, A-10C, AV-8B, AJS-37 Viggen, F-5E-3, F-86F, MiG-21bis, MiG-15bis, L-39 Albatros, C-101 Aviojet, P-51D, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, Bf 109 4-K, UH-1H, Mi-8, Ka-50, NTTR, Normandy, Persian Gulf... and not enough time to fully enjoy it all
foxwxl Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Try not to use the MSAA override in Nvidia Control panel, use the game setting instead. I use a GTX970 when I set 2X AA override in the drive, and the FPS is drop to 30 in dubai city. When I set MSAA 2X in the game and MFAA ON in the drive, the FPS get to 49-60 at same location. When I look in the Nvidia control panel under manage 3D settings for the Program Settings tab, DCS isn't on the list. I have to add it myself even then most of the settings are defaulted to be controlled from DCS not the Nvidia control panel. What should I do about the settings under the Global Settings tab? There are a lot that are default to on: Antialaising FXAA, AA Gamma correction, CUDA-GPUs, Open GL rendering GPU, Shader Cache, Texture Filtering- ansiotroping sample optimization, Texture filtering- Negative LOD bias, Texture Filtering-Trilinear optimization, virtual reality pre-rendered framses =1. Edit: I spent the last 45 minutes playing around with the settings in the Programs Tab and Global Settings Tab under 3D settings. It seems I can change them around as much as I want. I don't get any change in the FPS in DCS. I'm still around 35-45 on the ground at Dubai Intl. in the rain with raindrop effect on. Edited May 25, 2018 by Heavy-D69420
