More skins for Iranian aircraft

We need more Iranian skins for aircraft and other assets with the release of this map, to be able to make some more realistic missions.

 

At least for aircraft that are/were employed by Iran:

 

 

F-14

F-4

 

UH-1

AH-1

CH-47

 

Su-24

KC-135

(K)C-130

Mirage F1 (needs to be modeled)

and maybe Su-25 (fictional)

Not just assets, but these aircraft also have to be available for Iran in the first place. This is indeed badly needed!

There is already a Su25 available for Iran with an Iranian skin and decals.

 

I agree, PG is at the moment pretty empty for the red side.

But I wonder, because Iran never really employed those Su-25. There only a few defected Frogfoots from Iraq in Iran. I saw them with my own eyes at the airport in Shiraz, several years ago. But they were never added to the active IRIAF fleet. As far as I know, they were given back to Iraq three or four years ago.

I would keep the Su-25 on the red side for Iranians. Thats the closed CAS jet you can fly as IRIAF in game.

I could have sworn that there was a news story about an Iranian Su-25 attempting to shoot down a drone over the Persian Gulf a few years back. I remember that it was a Su-25 specifically because it seemed like such an unlikely aircraft to use for that purpose.

Two Iranian Su-25 fighter jets fired on an unarmed U.S. Air Force Predator drone in the Persian Gulf on November 1, the Pentagon disclosed on Thursday.

 

The incident, reported first by CNN, raised fresh concerns within the Obama administration about Iranian military aggression in crucial Gulf oil shipping lanes.

 

The drone was on routine maritime surveillance in international airspace east of Kuwait, 16 miles off the coast of Iran, U.S. officials said. The Predator was not hit.

 

The CNN story, in the video, shows stock photographs of an Iranian Su-25 as well. So it does sound as though Iran has at least some operational Su-25s and that they have launched them on combat sorties.

 

(also, this sounds like a good idea for a quick mission for the Su-25 and/or Su-25T on the new map)

With the F-14 and F-4 being currently on development I find it hard to believe that ED will spend the time to create Iranian skins for the already existing models, although they could probably create some very basic ones so we can make do until the actual modules are realesed.

Even more so for the Mirage F1 which isn't in the game yet and apparently is being developed by AvioDev. Even creating AI assets takes a significant amount of time, so by the time they release it the module may as well be very close to release.

I was going to do those skins but then I heard of an Iranian team working on all of those skins, who knows maybe ED adds them later.
