j0nx Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 I get blurcompute.fx is deprecated errors that crash DCS on startup when I enable SSAA in non-VR. What is that error about? In VR it makes the zoom level all wrong when used but that is already a known issue. Is SSAA something that even works because for me it crashes the sim in non-VR and in VR it's unuseable due to the zoom level. I would like to try it out in non-VR but it's a hard crash with that blurcompute error. thryckz Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 I just made a post last night about DCS crashing and I have all the graphics set to high/ultra except for Motion blur and DoF which crashes the game for me. I'll try to see if disabling SSAA will fix it. Maybe you should try and disable Motion Blur and DoF if its enabled
j0nx Posted May 28, 2018 Author Posted May 28, 2018 I had already went through the whole process and weeded it down to SSAA. j0nx Posted May 30, 2018 Author Posted May 30, 2018 So is SSAA working for anyone or is it just me that gets this blurcompute.fx shader problem with a crash when it is enabled? Are there any support reps here? David OC Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 It's only just been implemented I don't use it and have a fairly good rig, I max out everything and leave SSAA off and get 70 to 100+ FPS. With SSAA on 2.0. Frame rate goes to 25 FPS . Looks great tho... This is only the first implementation in this beta build, perhaps it will work better after a few more builds and tinkering. i7-7700K OC @ 5Ghz | ASUS IX Hero MB | ASUS GTX 1080 Ti STRIX | 32GB Corsair 3000Mhz | Corsair H100i V2 Radiator | Samsung 960 EVO M.2 NVMe 500G SSD | Samsung 850 EVO 500G SSD | Corsair HX850i Platinum 850W | Oculus Rift | ASUS PG278Q 27-inch, 2560 x 1440, G-SYNC, 144Hz, 1ms | VKB Gunfighter Pro Chuck's DCS Tutorial Library Download PDF Tutorial guides to help get up to speed with aircraft quickly and also great for taking a good look at the aircraft available for DCS before purchasing. BitMaster Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 SSAA at 1.5x is awesome..plain awesome David. I agree, 2x is overkill for a 1080ti. I have maxed out settings eerywhere but Lens and DOF and this MFD 1024 thing at "not all frames", the rest is maxed out. I get 50ish the lowest and 100+ max..with a much much better quality picture than MSAA4x and the rest at same settings. Just do NOT combine MSAA and SSAA, it's EITHER - OR Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
jimcarrel Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 benefit of SSAA at this point seems to be machine specific. I get better frames now with SSAA 1.5 and that is even after high switched some settings from medium to high. I'm quite happy with the added frames. Went from avg of 40 (no vsynch) to solid 60 (with vsynch). Some have success with it and some not so much. Win 10 64 bit Intel I-7 7700K 32GB Ram Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6gig
