Hi,

Thinking of changing my old rig (I5 2500k + RAM 8Go) and replacing it by :

Which one is the best I7 8700k or 9700k ?

- 8700k : 3.7Ghz / 6 cores / 12 threads

- 9700k : 3.6Ghz / 8 Cores / 8 threads

Monocore frequency is little higher with the 8700k.

Don't care, it's a K.

9700K

8 coeurs physiques c'est mieux que 6 coeurs physiques + 6 coeurs virtuels. Pour DCS, la vitesse du CPU (surfréquencer) aide beaucoup.

It is worth 50$/€ more for the 9700k ?

My actual rig is 7 years old, I expect the next one to last the same.

I heard about thermic past on the 8700k and may not have as good dissipation as the 9700k notably in terms of overclok ?

Can't tell. Both CPU are good for DCS. Maybe you should start a new thread for a better forum visibility on you.

For 50 bucks more for the 9900k i would take that one.

It does not matter really anyway for DCS because it is heavily single treaded.

Would also be nice to have 16gb memory iam using 8gb myself.

The actual goal is 32GB, consider that.
