ADF/Squelch Behavior

When the ADF is engaged for one of the radios, it automatically disables the squelch for that radio in order to listen in (even if it's not a proper frequency).

 

When the ADF is powered off, it seems that the squelch for the previously selected radio remains off, and must be turned back on manually.

 

Is this intentional behavior? I searched a bit through the NATOPS manual and couldn't find anything regarding this (whether it's intended or not). Didn't want to submit a bug report if it's a proper function.
