Amazing module this Hornet! Tnx ED. I have an older graphics card and it still runs gr8 in DCS. made a vid of it but I have to apologize because I cant manage to show it here. if some1 can help me with it would be cool! until then I can only add the link sorry:

I have none crashes or the need to get an expensive high-end card , for me the old guy I am it is enough.

pilotfly.gif Until it is not playable anymore I stick with this card. The only problem I have like so many more is the MP part. its not playable anymore but this isn't the connection 200mbit here or hardware, it is not optimized on ED`s side..... to bad ,had good time in MP in the past. Hope it wil be fixed anytime soon.sad.gif Gr8 module ED TY again thumbup.gif

Good it works for you but it is one thing flying over water only.

How does it perform when flying over land or land on a airbase?

Good call.

Will record it when I am back home from work

What you do to get videos embedded here is the following..I will use your link as an example...in the example I will leave spaces between brackets so as to not enable the embed and you can see the process...I will highlight in red the only part of the link you need from any youtube video to embed it.

Me7L9dll8m8

Also make sure you deactivate the hyperlink from the link extract from above by hitting the "remove link" button above text window.

"RED TEXT HERE without quotes" <---put a forward slash in front of the "youtube" in the closing brackets

I'm more curious to see what his CPU specs and RAM and HDD/SSD specs are.

My system specs:

I7 6700K CPU @ 4.4GHZ

16 GB ddr4 GSKILL FURY BLACK EDITION 2666mhz

EVGA GTX 580 3GB

Cooler master High airflow case.

750 W Corsair CX750

MOBO MSI Z170A

850 EVO 240GB SSD

Windows 10 pro 64 bit.

Track IR 4 , not used in video so it goes not smooth.

Saitek X52 Flight Control System.

When I am home from work I will post a picture of my settings from inside the game and from the Nvidea control panel here.

Ty for explaining me how to embed the vids thumbup.gif

The combination of that CPU at that ClockSpeed along with the RAM clockspeed and on top of that you have liquid cooling and are running an SSD.

Yea, that is a beast machine putting up the work for you. The GPU is simply gliding along when it comes to load work thanks to your other components

I've got a I7 4790k, 16GB Corsair 1600Mhz and a 500GB SSD

Barracuda's system, pound for pound, without comparing GPUs between yours and his definitely blasts your system, and even mine out of the water.

I run

i74790K @4.0Ghz

G.Skill Trident 2100Mhz x2 8GB = 16GB

and EVO 850s x4 (2 of them in RAID0)

The only component I have better than his is the GPU...I have STRIX 1080

this goes to show how CPU and RAM dependent DCS still is

Care to share your settings, I'm running on a GTX 980 stock and I'm getting FPS loss and stutter

another thing to consider is your in-game and Nvidia Control Panel settings

I tweak most of my settings in the Nvidia control panel and have them override DCS settings. I get avg. 90FPS

Sorry for not posting the wanted information yet.

Workload is killing me today.

Tomorrow I have a weekend of.

You can count on it that tomorrow I share al the wanted info.

Sidenote:

Your fps is higher compared to mine due to your card.

I stick around 50 fps high and 30-40 low altitude.

Just brainstorming here, but stuttering issues can it be also the reason that for example a antivirus prog is running in the background, bad cookies, windows updates or some background programs interfere with DCS running? Also switching from a hd to ssd wiped alot of stuttering on my side.

I think also that not only a fast gpu is record breaking but fast memory , cpu and mobo to.

This because a fast gpu is less effective if it cant process the data fast enough it wil be blocked due to slower hardware around it..

Im not a hardware genius but could it be?

I heard a logical comment before, the situation of my system is that my hardware is pulling the gpu with it .

But my gpu can have a steady flow of data exported

to my system.

Could I be right with this view?

My laptop is an old i7 16gb ram and a 780m and it ran everything including the PG map fine up until I installed the hornet and that last patch. After that it was almost unplayable so last night I noticed a video driver update and ran it. Also I set the bottom main graphics settings to low with first two settings on high, water on high and distance on high and left everything else either off or on low. Same settings I used before the hornet. After I updated the GPU and reset my settings back to how they were it’s running much better now. I thought it was time to upgrade it but right now it’s working fine again. On a side note I flew home on the weekend and played the PG map on my 1080 in VR and all I kept saying was wow. The rain drops and flying thru them clouds blew me away, I can’t wait to get home again.

Maybe also a good suggestion for people with troubles is updating your mobo drivers, processor drivers and every driver you can find for your hardware.

Also these drivers can get corrupted.

Not the right or corrupted mobo drivers for instance can result in stuttering system performance.

I don't know what to advice here at work atm but there are programs out that detect outdated and corrupted drivers and surch for the up to date drivers for you to download.

Other question is, is your bios up to date? flash it to the latest bios build.

After you formatted your HD and/or installed windows again did you installed and updated your mobo ,processor ,usb etc etc drivers again?

Because they are gone after a format for example.

Dust in you graphics card or other hardware components?

Settings adjusted in windows 10 for preventing some activity of all sort of scripts etc etc in the background.

There are so much reasons for stuttering or bad performance wile the system should run everything like a race car.

It is not always ED side of things that is causing bad performance.

I see so much people with vidcards and hardware in other words super systems I am jalous about lol but who have so much trouble with performance in DCS (ofcourse it is demanding but still).

Somewhere is the reason but again it is not always ED who has to or can fix it for so many different system builds.

Just trying to brainstorm and raise some ideas for possible solutions.

I am not a genius but try to help.

I advice you to use Windows 10 godmode.

Its awesome to use.

You can create a godmode map for windows 10 this way:

with Windows 10. It is a dedicated folder that puts all of your settings in one place, where you'll be able to do everything from adding clocks for different time zones to defragmenting your drives. And it's a snap to set up.

Set up GodMode

To enable GodMode, check if the user account you are using is an administrator account and then right-click on the desktop and click New > Folder.

Next, copy and paste the following into the folder name:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Note: Make sure to copy the whole line above, including GodMode, the period and the brackets.

The folder icon will change to a control panel icon. Double-click on the new icon to see your universal settings panel. The settings are organized under various headings, from Administrative Tools to Windows Firewall.

For windows7

Step 1: Right click on desktop.

Step 2: Click create folder.

Step 3: Name your sparkly, new folder this, "GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}" and press enter.

Step 4: Blink as the folder changes form to look like the control panel.

Step 5: Open the folder and bask in all your godly, control panel-y power.

This for everybody who did not use it before.

Yes the stuttering can be due to background apps running and using up resources such as CPU load and RAM.

Yes your hardware surrounding the GPU is pulling it through, making it seem like the GPU isn't as old as it is.

Yes, even if you have a Nvidia TITANX GPU but you have slow mobo, slow ram, old HDD, and a sluggish CPU then the GPU no matter how good will be hindered in performance. This effect is known as "bottle-necking". Like the neck of a glass beer bottle, the speed and flow volume are reduced at the neck due to compressing the fluid into smaller room for travel.

As promised! i am a man of my word, the settings i have made for optimizing my GTX580 3GB vid card.

Be aware that it is all subject to change because i am still finetuning everything to get the max out of my card.

The setting as they are are used in the performance test video i posted earlier.

I have to apologize if some things maybe not clear to understand because i had to translate it from dutch to english en type it down for you to compare.

If there is anything causing confusion or not clear , dont hesitate to ask.

I wil also add a pic of my setting made in the DCS settings panel.
