wow normally Ed doesn't release early access or beta products stuff on steam.

 

Seems They made an exception for the Persian gulf map and the Hornet.

yea guess theres too much money to be made to stick to thier now former policy of "no release on steam until product is fully complete"

 

 

Im not really complaining.Its good for them to expand thier distribution, advertise and bring in more players to DCS ( along with more profit) but this policy it comes off hypocritical.

 

the longest time many forumers here have asked ED to revise thier policy. But it took Hornet for them to do so. Or rather it seems make an exception for since you can note other 3rd party releases that are still EA aren't present like the Harrier.

People forget that policy came after a massive amount of negative reviews & forum feedback about 'beta' modules on Steam. If they release it on day one, there are issues, people on Steam are not willing to deal with. If you don't release on day one, you 'hate the Steam users'. Rule of thumb, you can't make it right. :)

 

 

Now they cancelled the Steam 'sale' bonus that was planned first, and people are angry. If they wouldn't have done that, people on Standalone who pre ordered way before Steam users would have raged.

 

 

What do we learn? ED can't win. xD

I know... ANd yet thats my point. Despite all that they made an exception to this policy releasing the Hornet and Persian Gulf.

and i am a steam user who used to plays DCS through it , but switched to standalone back in the day because i simply didn't want to wait months (or more) for a pure final release
