JNelson Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 When I align my INS can I move off my parking spot first so that someone else can spawn and then start the carrier alignment, or do I need to stay in place and align first before moving. Community A-4E-C
antagonist Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Why would the plane care if it's stationary at the parking spot or ~50 m further down towards the catapults?
Ramsay Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Why would the plane care if it's stationary at the parking spot or ~50 m further down towards the catapults? In the case of the Harrier, it'll only align with the parking brake on (not simulated in DCS ATM). I'm not sure how it works at sea, the Harrier can data link to the ships GPS (as it's on a moving platform - I've haven't read up on the Hornet yet, so don't know if that uses a similar system. i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
idenwen Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 The F-18 alignment stops with an error if you disable the parking brake.

idenwen Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Well yes, but what prevents you from using applying the parking brake after you've moved out of the way? :P that the alignment then never continued or finished until reloading. But maybe thats user error. Did it work for you?
