... and yes, I know the proceedure and where to place myself, it just will not lower.

Seems to be the keybinding not working, but the switch in the cockpit is.

If you search for "Bar" in the controller settings for the F18, you'll find a few entries. I had to rebind to the one that does not says "CB" in the beginning of that line (forgot exactly which).

 

With this patch, they also now let us bind the "U" key to hook up to the catapult. :)

I ended up clearing the keybinding and redoing it, fixed it.
