Question about the RWR and possible HUD Symbology

Hi,

 

 

today I did notice in a Multiplayer Match that it is pretty hard to keep situation awarness while operating in an area with multiple enemy sams and fighters. Especially if more then one is looking you.

 

 

So I thought I maybe miss something in the F18.

 

 

In the Harrier you have symbology in the HUD for radar threats and if they lock/fire on you. I attached a file with a example.

 

 

Is there any option to turn this on in the F18? Is it even implemented? If no, will the F18 have this feature at some point or does the F18 not have this feature IRL and therefore it will not be implemented?

Yes it's coming (though doesn't look exactly like the Harrier's) - just not in yet.

It's coming but don't count on it to save you. The more elements you have displayed on the HUD, the less RWR info you can show (unless you force the hud to be one one of the degraded modes). IIRC when you are in Aim7 mode you can only see 2.

Does the limitation to two indicators only apply for the Aim7 mode? What about amram`s or aim9's?

 

 

Why is the HUD info limited in this case in the F18? Bad hardware?

I remember when the M2k rwr was only half functional. When it was finally fixed it made a world of difference. Looking forward to RWR improvements to the F18.
