Repairing on carrier leads to bouncing helicopter

Having joined our regular training session I flew an unarmed Mi-8 slick to the Stennis and landed. Upon landing, I broke my gear and opted to repair on the carrier.

 

The carrier was doing 25 knots, heading 000. My nose was pointing to 270 when I requested repairs.

 

Repairs were successfully completed and, as per ED style, I was hoisted up over the deck a few feet and plunked down onto the deck.

I noticed the helicopter kept bouncing, wheel brakes on, ever so slowly until it tipped over the edge and went into the drink.
