VZ_342 Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 I’m in the process of making a generic cockpit and need an idea on how to make a real-world “Nose Wheel Steering On” caution light that will stay on as long as the NWS system is activated. Currently the NWS system is activated (SU-27) by pressing LtAlt + q, which is a “press once, it’s on, press again it’s off” operation. The momentary push button I’m using energizes a DPDT micro-relay (5v) briefly and it’s easy to simply add a second relay to activate the light...but the light will go off as soon as I release the button. My knowledge of solid-state devices is minimal, so if anyone has an idea how to keep the light on after activating (without using a separate switch, although that’s a possibility also) please keep instructions in simple and clear terms. Thanks!
VZ_342 Posted June 27, 2018 Author Posted June 27, 2018 Looks like I’ll need a “latching relay” circuit, and will need a separate push button momentary switch to turn off the warning light relay. I’ll just place the “reset light” button next to the light itself.
