I see a lot of posts in regards to correctly setting the afterburner detent for the Warthog throttle. In particular, changing the axis curve / slider from within the sim. I find this a bit hit & miss as it can be tricky to get 100% power before pushing through the detent. It is also hard to get linear response throughout the throttle range.

Has anyone tried to create a custom curve instead using a TARGET script?

In TARGET, there is a SetCustomCurve function. For any axis, you can set any number of physical to actual output ranges. This allows you then to set deadzones anywhere in the axis range. The idea will be to map three ranges, the first to get you to 100% power just before the detent, a small deadzone at the detent and then the remainder of the axis range. This method should mean there is no issue getting to 100% power (without having to worry about engaing afterburner) as well as a more linear response on the throttle.

I am still waiting on my afterburner detent from Shapeways to arrive and will be trying this method when it arrives.

I use Target for this, but not with a deadzone. My settings do however remove the small deadzone (not related to the in-flight idle restriction) at the base of the throttle curve.

I'm also using Debolestis's afterburner detent from Shapeways. At work but will try and remember to post the relevant Target info tonight.
