Airspeed does not return after tanks jettisoned?

Seems that the airspeed penalty from having the tanks on does not get removed from the flight model once the tank is jettisoned.

The airspeed DOES return when bombs are dropped, but it didn't for me when the tanks were released.

Also, should the tanks release like this when inverted?
