VZ_342 Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Here's an idea I've played with for a couple months...build a 1/72nd scale flight deck of a USN carrier! Although there are several different classes, they all have the same basic layout and size...roughly 1000' feet long and 250' wide. This would be a slab of wood (plywood or MDF) about 15' x 3'. I chose 1/72nd because you wouldn't need a mansion to display it, and 1/72 scale aircraft are cheap enough (and light enough) so that if it had to go on a wall it would be ok. Or a garage. Depending on which one was built, there could be a decent complement of Viet Nam era aircraft or modern F/A18s... Just a thought. For fun. :pilotfly:
