mytai01 Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 First, I'd like to thank ED for fixing the surge launch capability of AI aircraft on airfields. Now they can launch from airfields without blocking each other as they taxi of for takeoff. However, there still needs to be some more work done on recovery of mass numbers of AI aircraft going to the same airfield. They still tend to fail to proceed to landing and can circle repeatedly for no apparent reason even running out of gas and crashing. Realistically, an IFR arrival will go to an initial point to fly a published instrument approach that is usually aligned with the runway around 15 miles on final and fly to a landing. A VFR aircraft usually enters the traffic pattern (Make Straight-In Runway XX, OR Enter Left/Right Base/Downwind, Runway XX) in a more direct manner as instructed by ATC and lands visually. Then there is the Overhead Approach which is not seen at all in DCS, but is very common in real life for all military aircraft (even the C-17, C-130, etc). It would be nice to see this issue cleaned up. It might also help any future development with ATC in the game...Thanks!
