jamius19 Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Pretty much as the titles say! I've horrible lag on all Dynamic Campaign Engine's Campaigns. Tried on Su25T, Su27 and F15C. All suffer from frame drops ranging from 20 - 50. My PC is relatively high end with GTX1080, Core i5 6600k @4.0 GHz with 16 GB DDR4. Only in Dynamic Campaign Engine's Campaigns, I have this lag. Anyone knows any solution? :( Thanks in advance!
jamius19 Posted September 2, 2018 Author Posted September 2, 2018 Here are some performance data collected from starting the campaign to the 5 minutes after the campaign loaded. CPU Uses < 50% throughout Ram Usages < 60% throughout Disk Usage ~ 100% at the beginning (with lags) < 50% after 20 seconds (still lagging) GPU Usages < 60% throughout GPU Mmeory Uses < 70% throughout
omskTransmash Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 I have similar gig, and getting the similar lag. FPS ~ 20, sometimes under 15.I usually get > 90 FPS (VR CAP) when doing other missions, campaigns. What i found is that DCE campaigns have much more objects, uses much more video ram, cpu power, etc. (some are shown from RCTRL-Break on-screen info) So I just thought it's the way it is. However, if it's not the case, any help would be more than welcome! Some not-so-great fixes i have tried: * Reducing clutter and other object-related settings can help, but not much. * Increasing preload radius helps, but again not much. With maximum preload radius mine uses around 12G of RAM so it's not disk swap issue. * In-game info shows Video RAM usage around 11G RAM, but my GPU only has 8G RAM. But dont know this is important since didnt tried on larger VRAM GPU. * Caucasus DCE has more perf impact than Nevada DCE (understandably NEVEDA has less objects), so i usually prefer Nevada DCE * Tried CPU overclocking to 4.6Ghz got around 5~8 FPS gain. But since FPS is overly fluctuating throughout the game, the gain does not feel great and/or recognizable. Reverted to previous overclocking value (~4.0Ghz).
PB0_CEF Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Did you try Mirage over Caucasus Light ? I reduced the front size with less objects and less planes. It seems to be better ... Tomsk Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 (edited) So I made a mod for the MBot campaigns that fixed this issue for me, it works by automatically pruning the missions to temporarily remove units you are very unlikely to encounter given the mission flight plan. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3525106&postcount=753 Personally this took me from an unplayable (in VR) framerate of <20 FPS up to a solid 45.
