eoh667 Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 (edited) Is it possible to ramp start (cold, off) on a carrier from a custom mission? I can cold start with the instant mission, and I can start from catapult on a custom mission. However, every time I try to set ramp start in my custom mission the carrier deck is empty and there is no aircraft for me to jump into. Edited September 6, 2018 by eoh667
LURKINGBADGER Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Yea, sure its possible. Stupid question... Have you put in the Planes as well? And if so did you set them as player/client [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
eoh667 Posted September 5, 2018 Author Posted September 5, 2018 Yes :) Or so I think. It's literally the same configuration, except changing from "Takeoff from runway" to "Takeoff from ramp" on a F/A-18C Lot 20 plane with skill set to Player.
LURKINGBADGER Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Thats weird, i may suggest you grab a mission from the user files section on the dcs website and see if you can figure it out this way. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
eoh667 Posted September 5, 2018 Author Posted September 5, 2018 Hm, I was playing a bit more and changed to "Client" instead of "Player". When I now try to jump in I receive "YOUR FLIGHT IS DELAYED TO START, PLEASE WAIT". Which is interesting; because my mission starts 18:30:00, and my player group also starts 18:30:00. Might there be a bug in the start times ... I have, after all, been editing a previous mission where I originally started from land.
eoh667 Posted September 5, 2018 Author Posted September 5, 2018 Hm, alright, I thought it was an edit bug, but even when I re-create a new mission with just a freshly placed carrier and F18 inside (set to ramp) the same thing happens.
eoh667 Posted September 5, 2018 Author Posted September 5, 2018 Could maybe someone with 2.5.3.21153 verify this that I'm not totally stupid? Mission Editor -> New (Caucasus) -> Add Ship CVN-70 -> Add F18 -> Skill Player -> Route Type "Takeoff from ramp" -> Fly
LURKINGBADGER Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Post the .miz file and i have a look next morning [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Grimes Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Use CVN-74, not the older CVN-70 model. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. eoh667 Posted September 6, 2018 Author Posted September 6, 2018 @Grimes, thank you! Yes, that solved my problem. Only CVN-70 produces that behavior, if I switch to CVN-74 it works!
