Miro Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Like in tittle. My rig: i7 4790k |16 gigs of ram | 1080 8GB | SSD. I have air cooling, when i want more mhz, i must turn off HT. Flying today over Dubai with Gazelle with little stutters. Tried then turn off HT (DCS is still one core hungry, and it should give me better use of single core) ocasionally put some more mhz, and... I think it works better now. Someone tried? Any thoughts? What is better? :pilotfly:
BitMaster Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 HT -> ON produces more heat and thus your CPU might get a notch too hot and clocks 100MHz down. You do not need to disable HT in Bios, just use ProcessLasso from bitsum.com and set it to SingleThreadedPerfromance mode, which hooks DCS to physical cores only ( 1,3,5,7 should be it ) and HT cores ( 0,2,4,6 ) remain untouched by DCS. Alternativ or in addition, your cooling system seems to lack behind. Redo the thermal paste and/or change cooling solution to a better model.
