Ground Crew issues

I'm trying to load a custom cartridge but when I go to the knee board it's telling me "Not close enough to ground crew". I'm on a friendly airfield. Anyone else ever see this?

Yeah the UI is pretty bad at the moment. You don’t need to be close to any ground crew to change cartridges. You don’t even need to be at an airfield.

I can't change carts though.

Have you verified that you have the controlls mapped? It's called something with custom cartridge in the controll mapping window. Also, do you have any enemy unit in the mission?

I was trying it in the cold start single player mission.

Well it might not have any cartridges to chose from then. Try the Create Fast Mission from the main-menu and chose to start from runway/ramp.
