It would be great to get a standalone DCS Encyclopedia app I could use on a tablet or phone before, during or after a mission without needing to get out to the in-game menu. While I and others fill this need through Wikipedia right now, I'd much rather use the game-relevant information provided by DCS itself than relying on the accuracy of both Wikipedia and the sim.

I imagine making such an app could be resource intensive, but I'd happily pay for it and I think others would too.

As a matter of fact, such an app does exist. It's just that it's probably not perfectly current anymore and doesn't offer much beyond what's in the in-sim encyclopedia, so hit and miss.

Wow, good to know! Any idea where I could get that app?

Just searching for 'DCS' in the Google Play Store brings it up, I think. There might be different ones, really, but one I looked at before was called 'DCS World Encyclopedia' and contained the (then current) in-game aircraft encyclopedia along with the approach and ground charts for all Caucasus airfields.
