New to the sim, and flying sims in general.

What is your placement of your throttle and Hotas Stick? How should it be to maximize control and comfort?

Also, I need recommendations on a flying "rig" as far as how I should setup my entire "jet". Is there a wholesaler out there that sells cockpits suited to the flying community? There are tons on the racing side...just not coming up with alot for flying.

Any help appreciated!!

Hello and welcome.

I used to have the Hotas over my desk, but when I started to fly more in DCS I developed a bit of shoulder pain, so I relocated the stick to a lower shelf, such that the stick is placed near my hand while the right arm is still posed on the seat's armrest .. the pain went away almost overnight :)

I havent done the same with my throttle because my desk's L shape allow me to rest the arm on the desk while using it, so it didnt seem needed.

Best regards

What throttle is that? And thank you for the pics. Do u use track ir or vr?

It's a Thrustmaster Cougar, the daddy of the Warthog :D

Nowadays I use mostly VR (with a second hand Rift CV1 that I purchased in May) but, when doing Mission Design or Training Missions (where I need to refer to the flight manual), I still use headtracking (a Track IR clone, this: https://delanengineering.com/head-tracking-delanclip-gamer/ you can see it mounted on my white headphones on the photo)

Welcome to the hobby :)

Wheel Stand Pro makes a nice setup. Not the cheapest thing out there but I use it with the stick positioned between my legs and it makes for a comfortable setup while flying in VR.

This company also makes some high quality mounts, again pricey but probably the last mounts you would ever buy.
