Majesco Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Hey guys :cheer3nc: i see the sea surface from the deck of both US and Rus carriers especially when my plane's at the cable section on the deck or at the catapult rail section, does anyone know how to fix this bug ? :badmood:
Viper101 Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 yea, i got the same exact problem but I live with it for now. Its because you have a low quality video card. What card do you have because I right now have an ATi Radeon 9550 AGP 256mb. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Majesco Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 wow, you say that i've a low quality video card ? sry no, i've the same card as yours: my video card is Asus Radeon 9550GE AGP 8X 128Mb and it's been overclocked to the same clock as 9600XT it's here:
Viper101 Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 yeah, it mostly occurs with the Radeon 9550 series ;) so yeah, our cards are screwed, haha. All I can say is that you need a different card to fix the bug.....I have overclocked my graphics card and changed the voltage many times and that is prolly worsening the problem more so all I can say is we both damaged our hardware. :( [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
spugnut Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 That image looks like a z-test failure - as you probably know, whenever a pixel is passed to the render stage of the card it is checked against the z-buffer to ensure that it isn't occluded by any geometry that has already been rendered. It's unlikely that you'd have damaged such a specific area of the card's function, even with an overclock. A quick scout shows that your card uses a hardware accelerated z-buffer featuring "Early Z-Test" and "Lossless 48:1 Z-buffer compression". It's possible that these are interfering with your render with parallel surfaces at high viewing angles. There does seem to be some data on the ATI websites for developers about forcing the Z-test in order to diagnose rendering issues with the buffer optimisations - worth looking to see if there's a registry value you can change to set this as a consumer. Hope this helps. Lt. Commander Block: Every aerial photo and recon report indicate a defensive arsenal in the D, and perhaps negative C, categories. There's also some anti-aircraft squadrons. Admiral Benson: I don't have a clue what you're talkin' about, Phil. Not a clue. I have a shell the size of a fist in my head. Pork Chop Hill. The only way I can make this toupee to stay on is by magnetizing the entire upper left quadrant of my skull, so you just go ahead and do what you do.
