Launching SA ver from Oculus library crash.(starts fine from desktop)

Seems Oculus automatic shortcut added the command line as launch option and i totally missed that.. (thought it was the actual shortcut)

i removed the text from launch options - game loads fine :music_whistling:

 

 

Hello all,

Launching the standalone version of DCS using the start menu shortcut, loads the game fine both in VR and desktop mode.

When i try starting it directly from Oculus library, the game exits to desktop as soon as the graphics load.

 

The Oculus automatically created shortcut directed to:

"E:\Games\DCS World\bin\dcs.exe"

 

I tried changing it to match the start menu shortcut:

"E:\Games\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe"

The issue persists.

 

I compared both logs:

1. Successful - Running the game in VR from the desktop shortcut.

2. Failed - Running the game in VR from the Oculus library shortcut.

Both logs are practically the same - only 1 more line exists in the successful attempt:

UIBASERENDERER: Cannot load font [E:\Games\DCS World\dxgui\skins\fonts\]!

Until now I used DCS free content through Steam and it worked as expected:

1. Launching from Steam - the game launcher allowed choice of VR or desktop version.

2. Launching directly from the automatically created Oculus library shortcut, loaded into VR using Oculus SDK (no steam VR).

 

I wanted to go in with one of the purchasable modules and decided to use the Standalone version but now i am stumped by this one.

The shortcut put in the Oculus Library has never worked properly for DCS.

It is the only game I have that the library shortcut does not work for.

 

I have communicated with ED and they say it is on Oculus end, have submitted feedback to Oculus on this issue but it still persists.

 

I always just launch DCS from my desktop shortcut.
