wilbur81 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I think I know the answer to this question, but is there an option with the real APG-73 to get rid of the B-Sweep? I ask because.... I HATE it! :-) Coming from the -63 modeled in the Eagle, that has a caret OFF OF THE MAIN DISPLAY representing the current antenna position/sweep, the Hornet radar is just frustratingly cluttered. Ironically, all of the de-clutter options on the DATA page don't 'de-clutter' the stuff that I'd like de-cluttered. Obviously, this is not ED's fault...just venting about the real life radar feature choices made by the designers. When in SST for example, the velocity line on the contact gets cluttered by the B-Sweep that is now overlaid across the top of it, especially if the contact is coming directly at or away from you. Why didn't Hughes just do what was done in the F-15/16 and make a nice clean radar display? Beamscanner, where are you? :) Thanks for letting me vent. i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
Svend_Dellepude Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 The Eagle scope in game doesn't reflect the real one in detail. At least AFAIK. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Win10 64, Asus Maximus VIII Formula, i5 6600K, Geforce 980 GTX Ti, 32 GB Ram, Samsung EVO SSD.
wilbur81 Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 The Eagle scope in game doesn't reflect the real one in detail. At least AFAIK. In terms of display iconography, it actually is very accurate. But GGTharos can chime in here to back me up with some authority. :-) i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
