PythonOne Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Is there a way to dramatically reduce the size of a particular picture but it would only slightly reduce the quality. I'm trying to put a background on a website and the resolution is high, so is the size. I don't want to resize it, just reduce the size with little loss to quality. Is there a way to do that in photoshop? I've tried converting it to gif, but the color quality got reduced. Any suggestions would be useful. I posted this question here because some people may find it useful for sig rules as well.

You just adjust the slider until you get the balance in file size and image quality you want. There is a free photo editor called Gimp I think which should be able to do the same thing as PS. Cozmo.
