slicker55 Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 After hours of searching ... anyone know where I can get an up-to-date list of all available RSBN and ATC channels for NTTR in relation to MiG21 i7-5820K 3.30Ghz | Asus X99-S | Sapphire R290X | R7 240 | 16GB DDR4 PC4 2800MHz | Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD (OS) | Samsung 840 EVO 500GB SSD (DCS) | Noctua NH-D14 2011 Cooler | OCZ ZT 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular PSU | NZXT Phantom Enthusiast | 3 x IIyama Prolite E2473HDS 24" | 1 x Dell S2240T 21.5" Touch Screen | Windows 10 64-Bit | AMD Eyefinity 5760 x 1080 | TrackIR5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind 1771 | Vaicom Pro + VA (Licensed) | Sennheiser Game Zero | Honeycomb Yoke (June 2020)]
slicker55 Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 @Frederf Thank you - very helpful... now I can find my way around the map! Re. calling ATC's, still struggling to find a list containing the pre-set radio numbers for use in the MiG21 (similar to charts available for the Caucasus map) I'm starting to wonder if in fact a generic list exists - maybe, you have to create your own pre-sets using the mission editor? i7-5820K 3.30Ghz | Asus X99-S | Sapphire R290X | R7 240 | 16GB DDR4 PC4 2800MHz | Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD (OS) | Samsung 840 EVO 500GB SSD (DCS) | Noctua NH-D14 2011 Cooler | OCZ ZT 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular PSU | NZXT Phantom Enthusiast | 3 x IIyama Prolite E2473HDS 24" | 1 x Dell S2240T 21.5" Touch Screen | Windows 10 64-Bit | AMD Eyefinity 5760 x 1080 | TrackIR5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind 1771 | Vaicom Pro + VA (Licensed) | Sennheiser Game Zero | Honeycomb Yoke (June 2020)]
Frederf Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 Yeah, there isn't a way to define the preset channel frequencies on a per-terrain basis. The list of channel-frequency given in the image above is the same for all terrains. In the early days of NTTR the frequencies were simple integers like 123, 124, 124, 126 MHz like Causcuses and this is when the kneeboard table was made. But at some point in the past for NTTR those were changed to more real frequencies like 132.55, 118.3, 119.9. Currently there is no correspondence between the default channels and useful frequencies for NTTR. With the default frequency channel arrangement it is impossible to contact ATCs in NTTR.
slicker55 Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 @Frederf A really helpful answer - much appreciated So, for MiG21, currently, ATC not working in NTTR (across the board) unless you edit the list of pre-set radio channels in the mission editor? By this I mean, replace the 'default' frequencies in the mission editor with the 'more realistic' frequencies When I open the mission editor, create a new mission and click the radio tab, I see a list of pre-set radio channels containing 'default' frequencies If, for the purposes of this exercise, I replace the 'default' frequency in pre-set (1) with a 'realistic' frequency, tuning the radio in the cockpit to pre-set (1) should enable me to contact the ATC associated with that frequency (easy comms off) So, using the following example: NELLIS AFB VHF AM 132.550 UHF AM 327.000 VHF(L) AM 38.700 HF AM 3.900 Two questions: Which one of the four frequencies above should I use for MiG21? How do you know which frequency 'band' to use? :book: i7-5820K 3.30Ghz | Asus X99-S | Sapphire R290X | R7 240 | 16GB DDR4 PC4 2800MHz | Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD (OS) | Samsung 840 EVO 500GB SSD (DCS) | Noctua NH-D14 2011 Cooler | OCZ ZT 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular PSU | NZXT Phantom Enthusiast | 3 x IIyama Prolite E2473HDS 24" | 1 x Dell S2240T 21.5" Touch Screen | Windows 10 64-Bit | AMD Eyefinity 5760 x 1080 | TrackIR5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind 1771 | Vaicom Pro + VA (Licensed) | Sennheiser Game Zero | Honeycomb Yoke (June 2020)]
Frederf Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 132.55. R-802G is capable of 100-150MHz increments of 1/12th MHz. But in DCS this radio can take UHF too but we don't talk about it :music_whistling:.
slicker55 Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 slowly getting there - flying' around, calling up, checking rsbn.. actually a good way to see the maps... :) i7-5820K 3.30Ghz | Asus X99-S | Sapphire R290X | R7 240 | 16GB DDR4 PC4 2800MHz | Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD (OS) | Samsung 840 EVO 500GB SSD (DCS) | Noctua NH-D14 2011 Cooler | OCZ ZT 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular PSU | NZXT Phantom Enthusiast | 3 x IIyama Prolite E2473HDS 24" | 1 x Dell S2240T 21.5" Touch Screen | Windows 10 64-Bit | AMD Eyefinity 5760 x 1080 | TrackIR5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind 1771 | Vaicom Pro + VA (Licensed) | Sennheiser Game Zero | Honeycomb Yoke (June 2020)]
