saa Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Last year [Oct 2017] I upgraded to a VR capable pc. All the VR apps I tried worked fine except DCS; the framerates would bounce up and down. I did the typical routine of spending hours tweaking settings and reading forum posts to no avail. I put the sim away for a while hoping that a future upgrade would fix it. So a year later [Oct 2018] I upgraded DCS to the current version and to my surprise VR ran fine. Framerates would lock at 90 in low density areas and 45 in high density areas and everything was smooth. Three months later I get the exact same problem again. All other VR apps work fine so this appears to be a DCS specific issue. I did have a recent BIOS upgrade and I'm not sure if the problem started right after this or not. Does anyone know of any other setting to try? I don't use steam. i7-6800K CPU @ 3.40GHz / 32 GB DDR4 @ 2133MHz / NVIDIA GTX 1080 / RIFT

Windows is taken some room from your SSD. In properties on your SSD. Tab Hardware, advanced settings you can tick a box for better performance. I did that and i am stutterfree now in DCS VR. WindyTX Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Try making sure that ASW is off. On my mobile rig if I don't turn off ASW then it runs fine then judders like crazy. I use the Oculus tray tool and after starting Oculus home I then start the tray tool and turn ASW off. That fixes the problem for me it seems to be connected to the system being unable to maintain 45fps. saa Posted December 20, 2018 Author Posted December 20, 2018 I checked properties for the SSD but don't see an advanced button. Right after I posted this issue I had another windows update. After the system rebooted VR is running smooth again. I also keep getting an Intel Turbo Boost thing appearing after every update. Not sure if this is messing with CPU priorities. At this point I'm not exactly sure what causes this issue but it definitely seems to be connected to updates. Thanks for the tips.
Krag6 Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Hey buddy, i experience the same thing sometimes. It happens when i spawn on Stennis and there's other ships around, as soon as i move my head to look at them, the game locks for a second and my fps becomes really stuttery. You can press CTRL+num 1 to disable ASW ingame when that happens. I managed to get it under control by looking at ships myself before i get into aircraft (press F9 to rotate thru ships) and then loading into aircraft.
arturojgt Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 I’m having that problem too, only in one eye and when I’m over the sea or looking at the sea. Sent from my Tornado IDS while on autopilot using Tapatalk Pro. Arturo "Chaco" Gonzalez Thomas
