  2. So a blend of Israeli and Aliens eh [emoji6] Sent from my HD1925 using Tapatalk
  3. Unfortunately they are atrocious in VR and completely break immersion. They are also way more intrusive than any reflection I have seen in real life. Be great if it was an option. Sent from my HD1925 using Tapatalk
  4. As a slightly extreme answer you could buy a mk3 upgrade kit for $39 plus shipping . I bought 1 and the full upgrade kit with cams for $79 the postage was $27 to the US which is way better than it was. I have 2 early GF1s one has a serious Xaxis issue the other is fine but I plan to upgrade both. Sent from my HD1925 using Tapatalk
  5. I updated stable today happens the netcode is the same s pre update 2.55. the contrast between the 2.56 and 2.55 is marked. Gpu utilisation is double in 2.55 and frames are 30% higher. I did notice that there was no stuttering in 2.56. Hopefully the update this week will give the best of both worlds. Sent from my HD1925 using Tapatalk
  6. With the last update my framerates have literally halved and my gpu usage has similarly halved to 38 from 76 ish, with rift s and a 2080ti. Sent from my HD1925 using Tapatalk

    NVG position

Well at least this would fix the VR problem of the NVG covering the whole field of view so +1, however, we have been requesting this to be fixed for literally years soooooo. Sent from my HD1925 using Tapatalk
  8. Ninelines right you do not hear them in the cockpit. You can feel the change in the aircraft aerodynamics irl but you don't hear them. Mind you you can't feel chaff and flare go out IRL but I like that I can feel it with a jet seat [emoji16]. If you choose to mess with it it's up to you but it's not a simulation problem. 9. When upside down if you are still pulling positive g then the asymmetric force is still the same direction. It's not gravity that matters it's the felt g on the airframe. Sent from my HD1925 using Tapatalk
  10. I have a desktop at home and a laptop for the road. As long as I use one at a time it is not a problem and is allowable. Sent from my HD1925 using Tapatalk
  11. Nice review I have 2 GF1 bases and now a GF 3 I added a 30# spring to each axis so I think it's at 70 tho TBH I can't remember what it came from factory with but it feels the same as my MK1 with a 200mm extension as before. I tried to have the stick not center by very slowly moving it to center to get the worst possible off center stop, you can see the results in the pictures. Tho I will say that in game it always feels fine. I have very early mk1s and I don't have any notchiness near center on any of mine. I can't really feel any difference between my MK1 and Mk3 . I am a pilot by trade and will say that the stick is way lighter than real life ones and this is a common observation from my Pilot friends that have tried it. Like dburne said tho it is very precise and I much appreciate it especially in close formation , AAR and Dumb bombing / gunnery. For the record I run no curve or deadzone on any aircraft in game not in the VKB software. In the F18 it is centered enough to not throw off the autopilot when engaged. For the record I am going to upgrade my GF1 bases but am thinking about just doing the electronics as I like my old cams as they are and have not had any corrosion problems even on the one I carry with me at work. 12. Thanks for that I will put one on order Sent from my HD1925 using Tapatalk
  13. A quick question for those with a CV1 and Quest with link. I currently carry my CV1 on the road with me so I can "fly" while I am not actually flying. I use a laptop with a 3.1 USB c and a 1070 it works fine with CV1 and I have run Rift S on it but the S is too big to carry. 1. Do you think the Quest is worth it for the graphics improvement over CV1. 2. Is the quest small enough to be approximately the same size as a CV1 to carry on the road. Cheers Sent from my HD1925 using Tapatalk
  14. Is there an electronics upgrade for those of us with Gunfighter 1's I have 2 GF1 bases and one has a crazy X-axis problem still so I would love to replace the X-axis in it. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  15. Wow thanks for that guys. I use cv1 still for mobile rig sounds like quest is the new answer for that[emoji16] Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  16. It's been a while since I did this but I got it by ensuring I spent min time in the icing layer. I did flameout twice before I realized what was going on. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  17. Sorry it was just it wasn't in the post. TBH if it's real freezing rain then you just don't fly. That even includes a B777. But not sure what DCS to model that if it does. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  18. Anti ice on Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  19. So got home today and flew of the carrier and back,. Shocked at how slow on speed it was on recovery. Seems to be fixed thanks guys. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  20. Ok so the Aircraft is Using Tail Aspect. Draw a line from the aircraft to you, then measure the angle off the tail. Heading straight at you is a 180Tasp. Your heading doesn't matter at all. Heading away from you is a 0 TASP. I think you are trying to use Nose Aspect hence it's 180 - TASP = NASP. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  21. Aspect angle can be measured of the tail USAF style or of the nose as per the US Navy. Unfortunately you just have to see which one the Aircraft is set for . So your 40 Nose Aspect or NASP is also 140 Tail aspect TASP. NASP is actually a little easier to work with and tell you if the bandit can see you on radar. Greater than 70 NASP he can't see you . 22. Fwiw we have shear wind built in by default. If you load a 10 kt crosswind on the ground it will give you almost 20kts at 1600ft with a shear which you can't adjust unfortunately. It makes it somewhat unrealistic if you chuck in a 30kt crosswind as you get shear that would only occur maybe 5% of the time IRL. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  23. I never took the risk with the full tanks just spent an extra couple of minutes on the tanker. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  24. Yep that works with empty tanks. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  25. The Wing loading is the critical factor although speed does make a difference. In the 777 below 25K we fly at 270 kts, lower than our normal climb speed of about 320 to mitigate some of the turbulence effects. We still get thrown around occasionally if it's really bad. In the Tornado we could actually change the wing loading by sweeping the wings back and this would make a significant difference to the felt turbulence, if you wanted to cruise smoothly at low level on a thermally day in the summer you could just put the wings back to 45 or 35. Neither of these aircraft get thrown around like a 172 though which I remember could get thrown all over the place by relatively mild turbulence. I still maintain that DCS does a pretty good job of representing this but then I fly with a jetseat and I know the F410 spent some time trying getting the feel right so maybe that colours my opinion somewhat.
