Tripleinside Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 When preparing an altitude for a BUT using the PCN, the max altitude you can insert is 25000 ft. So I cannot prepare a point BUT with a higher altitude than that. Frederf Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 That's normal. The waypoint is designed to be set on the ground surface as the flight navigation is 2D only. INU updates are predicated on this notion. Very few locations on Earth where elevation is >25,000' (or whatever meters equivalent).
jojo Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Maybe Indian Air Force has a specific version of INS in Mirage 2000H with elevation up to 30 000ft ? :D But what Frederic said: not a bug, it’s a feature. The pilot manage his altitude by himself. Mirage fanatic ! I7-7700K/ MSI RTX3080/ RAM 64 Go/ SSD / TM Hornet stick-Virpil WarBRD + Virpil CM3 Throttle + MFG Crosswind + Reverb G2. Tripleinside Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 (edited) of course the pilot "manages" his altitude (this is why i posted this thread in the first place), but i find it odd it's limited to 25000 ft, and even more so that it's limited to an elevation for UNI update purposes, and not for current navigation. but so be it, i'll modify the subject... EDIT: I can't edit the subject. @admin: feel free to modify or remove this thread.
