hansangb Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Find the trim settings in the game controller setup. Assign it to your hat. It defaults to moving the view around for some reason. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
Pukedogg Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Look at the controls, are you setting it in F18C Game or F18C Sim ? Not being smart here just a question as you say never used DCS before. Any how if in sim use the dropdown and find HOTAS grouping. Assign each of the hat buttons there. For trim. Then delete all references to slew view. Then repost here the result. Check six Pukedogg. Thanks for the help anyway.
DeltaMike Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Are you using TARGET? I wouldn't, it's do-able but complicated, prone to conflicts and doesn't do much, let the app detect your hardware Plug in the gear, go to Game Controllers, make sure Windows can see the stick and that it's responding correctly. Then, start DCS, go to settings for F18 sim (not game). First task is to clear the defaults. Click anywhere in the column for the joystick, hit "clear category." Do the same for the throttle. Then go to axis mapping, make sure the columns are clear, then map your flight controls. Then start mapping out your buttons. I've tried it both ways and the app does way, way better than TARGET. TechRoss Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Not sure if anybody mentioned this yet, but for some reason DCS will map certain keys to all your controller at first. So you go into the control section and you will see something like pitch assigned to your throttle, your stick, your rudder pedals and even your MFDs if you have. It is quite strange. One of the things it seems to add is views. Best bet is when you go into controls, make sure that you only assign one thing to each item, so if you are doing trim, scan across the list of devices and make sure it is not in any of the other columns. Hope that makes sense... when you see it you will know what I mean. Good luck, not get put off, it really is worth getting back into the sim, it is fantastic at the moment and only getting better.
Dafiew Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Make sure you delete all default bindings in each of the categories before you start your profile Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Simflyin' since 1985 :smartass:
