Kroll Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 (edited) This video has the best sound of the F-14B I've seen. The sound was very different with the B and D compared to the A. You can hear it in this video. Please sample some of these sounds. Edited January 2, 2019 by Kroll
turkeydriver Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 (edited) The video sounds great. Lots of doppler effect and some directly overhead. Edited January 2, 2019 by turkeydriver VF-2 Bounty Hunters https://www.csg-1.com/ DCS F-14 Pilot/RIO Discord: https://discord.gg/6bbthxk
Kroll Posted January 2, 2019 Author Posted January 2, 2019 That’s a problem then. B and D should sound identical. I fixed it. Compared to the A model. The sound was very unique even when you compared it to other jet demos of that time frame.
Strikeeagle345 Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 The unique sound was from the F110 engines, being space apart like they are, making a resonating sound / Frequency / Hum when in afterburner. Pretty cool stuff. Strike USLANTCOM.com i7-9700K OC 5GHz| MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PRO CARBON | 32GB DDR4 3200 | GTX 3090 | Samsung SSD | HP Reverb G2 | VIRPIL Alpha | VIRPIL Blackhawk | HOTAS Warthog
Banzaiib Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 I lived very close to Oceana NAS in the 90's and fondly remember f-16's sounding very similar to F-14's. They have a lower pitched "howl" at idle than the 18's... which makes sense, given the larger diameter compressor face on the 110's they really had some great airshows...
