Tobi1973 Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Hi there! Every 10 seconds or so there is a significant stutter / freeze, meaning a breakdown of frames per seconds up to a half second. That is happening on all resultions, be it FHD or UHD with all quality settings minimum or maximum, vertical sync off or on. DCS.exe has all CPU cores at its disposal. Fresh DCS World and Modules install 2.5.2 (100+ GB download today...) Windows 10 latest build and updated, latest Nvidia drivers installed i7-4790K@4,7 GHZ and 16GB@2100MHz MSI GTX 1080OC Solid State Disks Just for the reocrds, BF5 runs buttery smooth in UHD with mid-quality settings... Any smart hint or answer apart from the standard stuff already posted in this forum very much appreciated. Cheers, :pilotfly:
S-GERAT Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 The performance has improved since that version, try the last open beta update which is 2.5.4

Cheers, :pilotfly: Well DCS is currently undergoing some internal development, kinda has been since 2.5.x and with that comes some performance issues, one of those is currently DCS is pretty much limited to 2 cores, there is further development in the pipeline. I haven't used a 2D screen for DCS for a long time but see similar issues in VR we just need to be patient for the time being. Also what are you settings and display resolution perhaps someone could help if they had similar setups with settings and expectations for DCS. :) Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above. Currently rolling with a Asus Z390 Prime, 9600K, 32GB RAM, SSD, 2080Ti and Windows 10Pro, Rift CV1. bu0836x and Scratch Built Pedals, Collective and Cyclic.

Not sure at all what could be the issue but I don't think anybody is reporting this kind of behavior, the optimization problems with DCS seem to be mostly on the constant stuttering when vsync > fps, at least for NVidia GTX plaform. Could it be some kind of background process that triggers every 10 seconds or so? Did you try to run ProcessLasso to try to see what is going on with your processes when that happens? METEOP i5-6600K OC@4.5Ghz, GTX 1070 OC, 32Gb RAM, M.2 NVMe SSD Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Rudder Pro, Trackhat Clip, 1080p projector, Custom touchscreen rig, Ikarus touchscreen panel, Voice Attack, ReShade, Simshaker Aviator
