AG-51_Sabot Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 To the Heatblur staff and developers, After a discussion about SRS within our squad, the question came up about communication between pilots and RIO's and if SRS will be required or just T/S. I can see where 4 birds are in the air and 8 different people trying to talk to each other on one T/S channel could easily become a goat rope. Are Comm's between the backseater and the pilot being addressed within the module or is there an another fix? "There is an art … to flying. QuiGon Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 (edited) There won't be any internal voice comms for human players in DCS yet. That won't change with the F-14 module. Such a functionality is planned for DCS for the future though. For now you will have to rely on external software like TS or SRS. SRS already has a build in function for intercom for exactly that purpose. Heatblur is already working with Ciribob (the guy behind SRS) to make sure that this works: One important aspect of DCS multiplayer is communication, and we decided to invest time into making the F-14 radios fully Simple Radio capable out of the box, with ICS, Radio transmission/receiving, pre-defined channels and KY-28 encryption all integrating with and communicating with SimpleRadio. Hot and Cold mic positions are supported for the intercom systems, and the SimpleRadio plugin functions are fully controllable through the F-14 cockpit. Our hope is, that those of you running SimpleRadio in our squadrons and multiplayer environments will find the experience of transitioning to the F-14 smooth and painless, especially on the communication front. Special thanks to Ciribob, the creator of SRS for being supportive in ensuring smooth F-14 SRS support! ItsGunter Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 One crew per channel and use SRS for inter-aircraft communication seems the best way to do it for now
Shadoga Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Read again: ... SRS already has a build in function for intercom for exactly that purpose. Heatblur is already working with Ciribob (the guy behind SRS) to make sure that this works: It's all there already in SRS: cockpit intercom and simultaneous external radios.
