All,

I recently purchased a Puma collective from Pro Flight Trainer and I'm looking for ideas on how to mount it in a way that I can quickly go from my Hog throttle to the collective as required. You can see my throttle is currently bolted to a hinged shelf where the collective needs to go. I'm open for suggestions.:pilotfly:

Here is the collective I ordered.

Here are some pics of my SIM chair.

Thanks!

Can you place both on removable bases. Use a Bolt and wing nut to tighten to the chair. Mount the bolts to the chair. Kind of like this!

It looks like your rig is made of wood, an I correct? Do you have any metal working ability? If you could put a piece of square tubing under your seat, you could build 2 mounts, one for the hog, one for the collective and swapping would be a matter of sliding them in and out of the tube, a nut with a hand knob could hold it

Great ideas so far. Seems easy enough Brewnix.

Svsmokey, do you have a picture for reference so I know exactly what you are describing.

Gotwake. I don't personally, but work with some folks that could probably do what you are saying. I think I can visualize it myself.

Yes, that is what I was thinking untighten the wingnuts and pull up and put the other in its spot retighten wing nuts with oversize washers.

Don't know if this helps, but this is how I made my stick removable in my combination flying/racing rig. Visualize what I was explaining. There is a 1/4 bolt on the other side to punch it into place e43e73a07a3d6a0771d742af4a76f658.jpg

I gotcha. Smaller tubing into larger tubing secured by bolt.

What if you just used this portion of the collective and mounted it to your chair so that it can swing up and back out of the way then you can fold up your throttle when you need it.

That's how I'd do it.

Nice usage of PS  I've also thought of this idea, but I can't find a rotating mount that locks in place. You have something already in mind?

There are already two holes in the mounting arm one can easily be used as a hinge, the other can be used for the latching mechanism. Maybe you could use something like this type of pin latch to secure it.

You could also add a tensioner such as this to the side of your chair so as you raise the arm near the end of the travel it adds tension to the arm so as it clicks into place it holds tension on the arm to eliminate any slop or unwanted movement when it is latched.

I hope what I'm saying makes sense, I can see it clearly in my mind. lol

Crushing it on the ideas. Thanks bro. It appears an obstacle to this idea is finding a latch pin/quick disconnect in size M4. I'll continue to look though.
