fjacobsen Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 I have tried to ripple bomb, but it does not seem to work - maybe my procedure is wrong ! I got 4xMK-82 bombs. Bomb pylons are selected and interval set to 150 Arm mode set to RIP But when I press the weapons release trigger, only the two inner bombs are dropped and that simultaneously. | i7-10700K 3.8-5.1Ghz | 64GB RAM | RTX 4070 12GB | 1x1TB M.2. kontiuka Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Ripple bombing is only meant for the practice bombs. I'm not sure if that is fully working though. When I last tried it, changing the ripple setting didn't seem to have on impact on how the practice bombs dropped.

The pattern on the ground should be larger when you use a longer time elapse. Roberto "Vibora" Seoane Alas Rojas [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

fjacobsen Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 So it only works for practice bombs - or also for "real" boms´bs, like the MK-82 ? If so - how to setup the weapons panel ? As I told - right now only the two inner bombs are released, but in pairs. I need to deselect the empty inner pylons to drop the outer ones. | i7-10700K 3.8-5.1Ghz | 64GB RAM | RTX 4070 12GB | 1x1TB M.2. NVMe SSD | 1x2TB M.2. fjacobsen Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 It was only meant to work with the BDU-33 Practice Bombs. Roger... But it has not been implementet yet as it seems. fjacobsen Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 In fact, it has been implemented to work in ripple mode with BDU-33. And how do You set this up ? | i7-10700K 3.8-5.1Ghz | 64GB RAM | RTX 4070 12GB | 1x1TB M.2. NVMe SSD | 1x2TB M.2. NVMe SSD | 2x2TB SATA SSD | 1x2TB HDD 7200 RPM | Win10 Home 64bit | Meta Quest 3 |
kontiuka Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 And how do You set this up ?Select your BDU-33 stations. Select "RIP" mode instead of "BOMB" mode. Select ripple time.
fjacobsen Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 Thank You, but I did exactly that with 4xBDU-33 on each rack for each inner pylon - so 8 BDU-33 in all. The bombs all seems to be released simultaneously. RIP set, Interval: 200 ms, both inner pylons selected. | i7-10700K 3.8-5.1Ghz | 64GB RAM | RTX 4070 12GB | 1x1TB M.2. NVMe SSD | 1x2TB M.2. fjacobsen Posted February 2, 2019 Author Posted February 2, 2019 I have tested it now, and there is some spacing. With som math I get this: At 250 kts => 465 km/h => 128,6 m/s x 0,2 (200 ms) = 25,7 m spacing. This is also appr. what I see. So it seems that ripple bombing with the BDU-33 works. | i7-10700K 3.8-5.1Ghz | 64GB RAM | RTX 4070 12GB | 1x1TB M.2. NVMe SSD | 1x2TB M.2. kontiuka Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 Yup, seems to be some difference. Depends totally on speed, dive angle, release altitude. The screen below was done at an IAS of 250 kts, level flight, 3,000 ft. The craters on the far right were done with 70 ms spacing. The ones on the far left with 200 ms spacing.
