Aeroscout Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Which do i need to change to get better FPS? Online, at Airports like Sukhumi and Krasnodar-Center, I get FPS in the teens, which annoys me. My processor is the only thing slowing me down, (see sig) My current settings are in the attachment. I also have reflections enabled as well as mirrors at medium resolution. basically, what I'm looking for is which option allows you to change the distance at which you see buildings, as this is really harming my computer's proformance. DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
NotiA10 Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 aero, turn the mirrors off - they are the "real" FPS killer - if you need them you can always press "n" or "m" in game and it will bring up the mirrors. the option to change the distance and what you see is visibility range, i believe though that you should be fine with it set to med if the mirrors are turned off. hope it helped, :pilotfly: NotiA10 :pilotfly: NotiA10 CoolerMaster HAF RC-932 - Intel Core i7 950 - Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro - Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R - Kingston DDR3 6GB - Gigabyte Radeon HD 5870 EF 6 Edition - Western Digital 640GB SATA-III - CoolerMaster 700W - TrackIR Pro 4 - Saitek X52 - Saitek Rudder Pedals - Hotas Warthog
Vekkinho Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Kill mirrors, reduce the water (A big FPS killer when set to High or Ultra) and set VSB RNG to medium. Mirrors are set awkward and provide no SA increase. So having a FPS burden for Eye candy or just because it's there IRL makes no sense in LO! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vekkinho Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Oh Yeah, I see in that attached image that you have Scenes (trees, buildings) set to High... Tune it down a bit. You'll have less bulidings in game. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
TekaTeka Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 As others say, turn off the mirrors first. Medium visibility range is a must. I think you can go to medium or high effects that doesn't affect FPS much. You might want to try my structures visibility mod and tree shader mod for better visuals and turn down some parameters in graphics.cfg for shorter visibility range and better FPS.
