Helles Belle Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 (edited) Firstly, I have read some of the other thread re: shiny Huey. I've started a new thread as I don't think the problem is being correctly addressed. The tail section of the Huey is not responding to the spec files re: shiny appearance. If the huey, as most are, is painted then the problem is not as pronounced. However if you wish to make a bare aluminium skin as I have tried to do, the tail appears dull & matte. while the body appears as it should & shiny. I'm aware of removing certain files to fix the problem. This only really worked with matte skins & then it made the skin a lot darker in full sunlight. When the bare aluminium is viewed in Model Viewer 2 it does appear correct. The 3 screenshots are the game supplied Standard paint scheme, the bare skin in game and the same skin in Model Viewer 2 See extra skins here https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3789839&postcount=5 https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=204013&d=1549498449 https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=204012&d=1549498449 Edited February 7, 2019 by Helles Belle Send lawyers, guns and money......... for the …. has hit the fan. Helles Belle Posted February 15, 2019 Author Posted February 15, 2019 Further to the above, it appears having the weapons mount loaded affects the shiny appearance of the Huey tail. With weapons mounts loaded (doesn't matter if weapons are loaded) the tail appears as it should and shiny. If weapons are not loaded the tail section is Matte. Helles Belle Posted February 26, 2019 Author Posted February 26, 2019 (edited) ** Matte tail when no weapons loaded ** SOLVED (I think) Open ab-212.lods.json (the original file - some people may have already modified it or deleted it) In civ_uh1_tail_dam Change the specAdd value to the red highlighted value below. (the original value is 1.0) "civ_uh1_tail_dam": { "reflMult": 0.5, "reflAdd": 0.64999997615814208984, "specMult": -0.5, "specAdd": 0.54000002145767211914, "specSelect": 0, "albedoLevel": 0.20000000298023223877, "albedoContrast": 0.94999998807907104492 As far as i can tell it works with all weapons etc. Now all I have to do is figure out how to fix the pilots vests/uniforms. ams999 Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 What's your problem with the uniforms? "[...] because, basically, in this day and age, if you get to the merge and no one's died - it's not good for anybody." - Keith 'Okie' Nance "Nun siegt mal schön!" - Theodor Heuss, September 1958 "Nobody has any intention of building a wall." - Walter Ulbricht, June 1961 "Russia has no plans to invade either Ukraine or any other country." - Vladimir Chizhov, Russia's ambassador to the EU, January 2022
Helles Belle Posted February 26, 2019 Author Posted February 26, 2019 (edited) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=232756 The front seat uniforms appeared faded/lighter than the side gunners. Noticeable with the Spanish UN crew. The side gunners are a normal blue but the pilots are washed out/lighter. I only really noticed it when I made a skin where the crew have orange vests. S3v3nS Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 (edited) Thank you! I don't know how you guy figure this stuff out but gald that you can. I recently finished my first skin and was pretty bummed that the paint did not match between the two sections. After doing some digging found your solution and it works. Do you know if this value needs to be changed after each update? Thanks again for sharing! Edited January 23, 2023 by S3v3nS
