Iranian F-4E will not orbit WP1 unless ROE = Return Fire at WP0

There are several Iran F-4E groups in the attached mission. ALL Red attacking aircraft are supposed to hold at WP 1 for a circular orbit. The Iran F-4Es do not orbit at WP1 as directed - see groups Red AGrp62, AGrp621 and Red AGrp64. But if an Advanced Waypoint Action ROE = Return Fire is added to WP0 then the F-4Es will orbit at WP1!

The aircraft should go into the orbit at WP1 regardless of the presence or not of ROE = Return Fire at WP0.

Not a bug.

SEAD, and other enroute tasks, can be active while AI does other tasking. In this instance they are told to attack any air defenses, detect enemy air defenses, then will attempt to attack those air defenses. They will never reach WP 1 to begin an orbit because they are attacking. In this instance if they somehow survive, destroy all air defenses, and have enough fuel, they will proceed to WP 1 to begin an orbit. At which point if they detected any new air defense while orbiting they'd go attack that.

ROE works because they are told that they can attack air defenses but only if fired upon first, so they fly pretty much as if they had no tasking.

To fix it you can assign the SEAD task at a later point. Either start the task at WP 2 or below to Orbit task, so that once they finish orbiting they immediately get the task to go SEAD.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
