Interesting, those are similar to WW2 pre-centimetric radar bands... I guess it could work for a search radar though. 450Mhz = 66cm wavelength. And UHF has way less attenuation than higher freqs and can see OTH if implemented right. So for an AWACS it makes sense since it doesnt need to lock anything up.

Looked it up. C band is the radar freq range of the E2 and unless i'm dyslexic the ALR67 says it covers it. I can see the confusion as OP in that link doesnt seem to understand that C band can be lower than 500mhz, as low as 300MHZ and realistically since we are IRL talking about antennas and coupling it sensitivity of the system could be even lower.

I prefer to go off of actual frequency values than band nomenclature. There's multiple interpretations of 'C' band for example and it's changed over time. The best I can find is this;

Some sites are saying the 0.5-2 GHz was an upgrade package applied to the -67 but information on this is scarce. If we take the 0.5 GHz (500 MHz) figure it's still lower than the E-2's 450 MHz.

Anyroad this is kinda irrelevant. The E-2 in game is an E-2D with an AESA radar - AN/APY-9. I very much doubt the ALR-67 can detect an AESA.

The AN/APY-9 looks to be an interesting radar system from what I can limitedly find about it. UHF/VHF so even lower freqs, so maybe it shouldn't show up after all. As to frequency cutoffs on the ALR, Im not going to argue book numbers, but from an engineering standpoint it should be trivial to detect 450 vs 500Mhz, I mean whats 50Mhz between friends... But the designers probably made the choice to filter under 500 for some reason, maybe because you get into the UHF air/satcom radio bands under 500mhz.
