We’ve been hearing about FOVeated rendering for VR since ~2016 (at least), and it still hasn’t materialized - it likely won’t until the second generation consumer headsets.

However, I was wondering if someone had applied this to a three monitor setup using either TrackIR or Tobii - I would imagine that the reduction in required processing power would be just as monumental as it is for VR.

Does anyone know if someone has developed this?

(I just bought a 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra, and it’s a bit depressing to know that a $1500 GPU still can’t handle a 3 monitor, 1440P setup lol).

It's already materialized and it is in the Vive Pro Eye that has already been demoed.

It's expected for release later this year.
