TacoGrease Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 We’ve been hearing about FOVeated rendering for VR since ~2016 (at least), and it still hasn’t materialized - it likely won’t until the second generation consumer headsets. However, I was wondering if someone had applied this to a three monitor setup using either TrackIR or Tobii - I would imagine that the reduction in required processing power would be just as monumental as it is for VR. Does anyone know if someone has developed this? (I just bought a 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra, and it’s a bit depressing to know that a $1500 GPU still can’t handle a 3 monitor, 1440P setup lol). etherbattx Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 i don’t see why not, but it’s probably just as far away as it is with VR
remi Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 It's already materialized and it is in the Vive Pro Eye that has already been demoed. It's expected for release later this year. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
