DeathAngel1 Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 There are two ammo types for Hornet's gun-M50 and PGU. I think that PGU is new type of ammo. But i didnt noticed any difference between M50 and PGU in DCS. ..:NAVY PILOTS ARE THE THE BEST PILOTS:..
RShackleford Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 M56 (M50 series) is a kinda low velocity high explosive incendiary (HEI) ammo. Good for air to ground because it doesn't penetrate too low into the ground before exploding, bad for air to air. PGU-28 is a much higher velocity HEI ammo, a little bit less effective for air to ground but much better for air to air. IDK if DCS models both or just one. Usually you select what you have actually loaded so the gun reticle is accurate (jet doesn't auto-identify.) No idea if it makes a difference in DCS
KittyVCAW-1 Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 In the menu for selecting armament there is no option to choose between the two. It's either tracer rounds or not. I don't think it's implemented yet, i just leave it set at whatever, it doesn't seem to matter which one you set it at. Training mission says to select M50 so thats what I do. Nobody likes me because I'm unsafe.
