Vatikus Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 As Wags had introduced GBU24, does that mean we can expect the correct guidance method for Paveway II? As of now it is guiding as III (proportional) instead of "bang-bang".
sobek Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Paveway II is bang-bang guided, if you watch it closely. I just think that they didn't model the inertia/lag of control surfaces, which is why even the bang-bang guidance is able to achieve very good accuracy. Besides that, there is much more to Paveway III than just proportional guidance. They fly a kinetically much more efficient path than the straight line of the Paveway II. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
