Harlikwin Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 So I think there is a tic box to switch from stable to beta branch. Can one easily switch between the two or is it a major reinstall? I i figure the tomcat is gonna hit beta first and I want to play it on day 1. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1) Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).
IlludiumQ36 Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 Right-click DCS in Steam, select properties. Go to Betas tab, select "openbeta - Public beta versions" from drop down list. It should update automatically. You can switch back to Stable by selecting the "NONE-opt out..." option.
Harlikwin Posted March 16, 2019 Author Posted March 16, 2019 I know how to do it, but does switching back and forth regularly screw things up? IlludiumQ36 Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 I've noticed no issues. I switch to open beta whenever a new hornet feature is introduced just to play around with it solo, then go back to stable for my co-op missions with my friends who stay exclusively in stable. Obviously there will be a little bit of downloading whenever you change versions.
