Odyssey+ HMD - No head movement

Hi.

 

I looked through the forum and the technical questions, sadly I didn't find any similar issue. I hope someone can help with this.

 

The symptom of the error, if I start DCS, the VR UI is loading, the menu is in front of me, but no matter how I turn my head, the menu is following my view. It looks like the head movement would be switch off.

The same happening in the cockpit too, the forward view is following my head movement.

 

I ran a repair on DCS, and a complete recalibration on HMD, but no effect.

I have no problem with VR in any other game.

 

My problem that I don't even know this is a DCS issue or HMD issue.

It would be great if someone could help.

I had this problem as well. However, it looked like it fixed its self. Wish I knew what caused it. Hope you get it resolved. By the way, I was using a Rift.

Tom, I remember having this once upon a time, also Rift. Try removing your saved games folder (save it elsewhere temporarily as you test,) and let the game build a new one.

Thanks the tip, but sadly the problem remained. Or even worse, after I moved the saved games folder, my mouse also stucked in the center position. I had to kill DCS in the process explorer. Moved back, and everything went back to stucked view only.

But it's suspicious, that the problem is connected to DCS somehow, I think the quickest way to find out, is the complete clean reinstall... 134 GB... :thumbup: yaaayy

I'm not exactly found the problem, but I managed to fix the issue. Maybe this help if someone else running into the same issue.

 

 

The DCS reinstall didn't helped. Then - after many many f word - I uninstalled all of HMD softwares, and other VR related system softwares (not the VR contents).

 

I reinstalled HMD Mixed Reality Portal (Odyssey default windows software), the DCS VR didn't seemed to work, simpy it started in desktop mode, no matter what was in VR menu, BUT when I reinstalled Steam VR too, finally the DCS VR is worked too.

 

 

So it seems the problem was in HMD MRP or Steam VR or both, which is weird, because my DCS World is NOT steam version, but after the bug disappeared, I don't really care what was the problem.
