problem applying patch 1.02

hey,

i recently formatted my partition and reinstalled xp pro + sp2 and the following:

dx update june

forceware 93.71

windows may hot fix

 

specs:xfx7600gs, e6300, msi p96neo-f,1gb ram

 

then installed locas and then tried applying 1.02 but during the unpacking of sounds i got this error:

Ms vc++ runtime library

runtime error

e:\lomac\deogg.exe

abnormal program termination

 

never happened to me before!

 

when i close it using taskmanager it says patch applied sucessfully, but then durinmg game some sounds are missing and some r mixed up like for instance the warning sounds of the rwr in the f-15 when a new radiation is detected are missing.

 

what's going on?

 

is there a way to unpack the files in a different location and later copy paste to the locas directory?

So you don't have FC right? Because its pointless to patch to 1.02 if you have FC.

 

Also, where did you download the 1.02 patch, i might try a difference source so make sure the first one wasn't corrupted.

no i dont have fc...just lockon:combat air simulation(the european ver i believe)

got the patch from the ubi site way back.

 

saved it to 2 locations cd and hd..both give the same error was working till i reinstalled xp, it might have something to with the may hot fix but im not sure.

 

so there's no way to manually extract the files?

yea where did you get the windows may hot fix, i would like to see its changelog. In the meantime, i would recommend you upgrading your graphics driver. See if that helps.
