[LATER IN EARLY ACCESS] default F-15 is still a superior BVR platform

I would have thought TWS would be in the jet by now. Being able to engage multiple bandits at the same time should have been a release goal in my opinion.

I know it's been stated that it's coming after the HARM stuff is done, but this is taking a while. I would have traded in data link, the SA page, and the HARM just to get TWS first, but that's just me.

Even with TWS you might find yourself getting killed more often if you dare head to head against F-15 as it has more kinetic energy to deliver AMRAAM than the Hornet, trust me on this as I rarely lost in single BVR against Hornet online (in F-15) and I'm just a casual player. So TWS isnt everything. Personally I prefer D/L and complete IFF. With DL you can play hide and ambush scenario ala Flanker. Turn off the radar and flank any enemy. I did it with nice result in MP.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the real life F-15 IS a superior BVR platform. It was designed from the ground up to be an air superiority fighter, and is able to go higher and faster than the F-18 can giving it a huge advantage in that role. The F-18 was designed as a multirole fighter with fleet defense being its primary air to air role. There are some countries that do rely on the F-18 for air superiority but majority of them are likely to never fight in a large scale war without the aid of a more capable nation. i.e. If Canada ever joined a war where it really needed to use its F-18's the US/UK/France would likely also be involved and providing aid with more capable jets. Like Oceandar said TWS, while very anticipated, likely won't change much in terms of other planes being better at BVR.

Sounds like a cool tactic, but the problem for me with the whole system is that it seems that the Hornet pilot then has to switch back on the radar, find on the scope and lock up that enemy target that they've been tracking via D/L... and only then employ a radar missile, unless of course you're now WVR and able to fire in VISUAL mode or use a heater.

Most of the time, you don't have to turn on the radar at all. You can get the enemy range from the SA. When below 7 miles you should be able to see it then just fire the slammer in visual mode. Just make sure there's no friendly around.

Some says its cheap ET tactic lol

Good luck
